Hartland XC Summer Week 4 = Final Forms Sign-up

Dear Runners and Parents,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  Please take a moment to read all the updated info about cross country camp and registering for Final Forms .

Cross Country Camp

I will work on finalizing the bus this week, but the survey was overwhelming to have athletes ride the bus.  The new cost of camp with the bus is $315. You may pay via check to "Hartland Athletics" or I can ask the athletic office to add it to "Parent Portal" for an additional fee. I need this to be paid before leaving for camp but will accept payment at your convenience.

Where: YMCA Camp Nissokone 6836 F41, Oscoda Twp, MI 48750

When: July 28th-August 2nd

Cost =  $315

Cross Country Camp Survey (Please Fill out ASAP)

Final Forms

To attend camp you must have all the paperwork in Final Forms complete along with an  uploaded physical.   Final Forms  is open for the 2024-2025 year.  Please start working on your forms.  I will update the season checklist with who has filled out  Final Forms  and the camp survey. Remember both parents and athletes need an account. PARENT DIRECTIONS FOR FINAL FORMS

Qualifying for Camp

Camp is a privilege and camp is totally optional.  An athlete may end their camp stay at any time(No Refunds). All athletes will have the same opportunities during the season whether they attend camp or not.

  • You must be eligible per MHSAA and Hartland High School Academic Standards

  • You must Run 4 miles in under 40 minutes.

  • You must Run 5 miles without walking.

  • If you are new to the program you must meet the first 3 requirements ONLY

  • If you are a returning runner, you must log 100 miles between 6/1/24 and 7/27/24.

Logging miles can help stay you healthy and is an  integral part of our program.

Strava Club = I have created a Strava club.  I will be encouraging all potential varsity athletes to upload their workouts to strava.  All athletes are welcome.  If an athlete uses strava for all their runs they will not have to log their miles. I will log for them.

Dead Period = The dead period is for all Hartland High School Sports.  No sport can hold organized practices with coaches over this period. This year's Dead Period is from July 1st-7th.  I will not be attending any runs during this time period.  Some kids may still want to run and I am sure they will talk at practice, but No coach will be at Practice June 29th-July7th.

Communication

I will be sending emails most weeks, updating the mileage log, and sending text messages throughout the summer.  Please make sure you are receiving both text messages and emails.  Use the link below to sign up for emails and the info to sign-up for text messages. Please let me know if you would like to be removed from this distribution list.

Social Media

I have been using Instagram and X(Twitter) to celebrate the team's accomplishments for many years.  I am not the best but I try.  Some kids have expressed interest in Vlogging(Video Logging) on Tick tok.  I have created a Harland XC/TF Tick tok and we have posted some videos. Please let me know if you would rather your child not be in these posts.  Please take a look at what we have done and let me know if you would like to opt your child out.
