Summer XC 7 = Week (FINAL Call for Camp)

Dear Runners and Parents,


It is crazy to think school starts in just over a month!  That means we really need to finalize who is going to camp so that we can order shirts and start planning. Please check the Season Checklist.  It will show if you have filled out the camp survey.  If there is not a YES or NO next to your name I would appreciate it if you filled out the camp form.  


CROSS COUNTRY CAMP

Please check the season SEASON CHECKLIST to see if you are registered. If you are not please fill out the Cross Country Camp Survey 


Where: YMCA Camp Nissokone 686 F41, Oscoda Twp, MI 48750

When: July 28th-August 2nd

Cost = $315

Please fill out the camp survey if you haven't Cross Country Camp Survey 


XC Camp Dietary Concerns Sheet = I have attached the Dietary concerns sheet for camp This is for those who have allergies or are Gluten Free, etc..  There will be a salad bar this year.  I am hoping to have the menu this week.


XC CAMP Medications = I have also attached the Medications sheet that must have a doctor's signature for any medications that need to be administered at camp.  This includes over the counter medications.  Please make sure you have this sheet with medications when you arrive at camp.


FINAL FORMS = Again, this year the athletic department is using Final Forms to collect physical and emergency info.  The original sign-up should take about 20 min for parents and 5 for athletes.  This will be faster if you are already signed up from a previous season.  Please see the Final Forms link or attached document for signing up. You can check my SEASON CHECKLIST to see if you are registered for Final Forms.


Physicals

Athletes will be required to have a physical dated after April 15th, 202\4 to run this year. Please plan accordingly.


SUMMER RUNNING SCHEDULE =  I have updated  the Summer Running Schedule it also has all of the workouts.  I understand life is busy, but the more you do the better prepared for the season you will be.  


Logging miles can help stay you healthy and is an integral part of our program.

Strava Club = I have created a Strava club.  I will be encouraging all potential varsity athletes to upload their workouts to strava.  All athletes are welcome.  If an athlete uses Strava for all their runs they will not have to log their miles. I will log for them.

 

Communication

I will be sending emails most weeks, updating the mileage log, and sending text messages throughout the summer.  Please make sure you are receiving both text messages and emails.  Use the link below to sign up for emails and the info to sign-up for text messages.  Runner Expectations at Summer XC Practice

We have many new runners as well as younger runners joining us this year. We are happy to have runners of all abilities, but please be aware that we do have expectations of the runners and we expect them to be followed so that we can keep everyone safe as well as get the most out of the time we have. Please let me know if you have questions.
